The Australia cooking oil market seems to be changing, with so many new varieties hitting the shelves. From olive oil and avocado oil to coconut and even algae-based oils, it feels like there’s a new “healthier” option every month. With more people becoming health-conscious and interested in plant-based diets, demand for oils that offer better nutrition and lower saturated fat is on the rise.

But I do wonder—how much of this market growth is driven by actual consumer demand for healthier oils, and how much is due to the constant marketing around it? There’s a lot of hype around “superfoods” like avocado oil, but are these really better for cooking, or is it just the latest trend? Plus, the cost of these oils can be pretty high, and not everyone might be willing to make the switch.

Personally, I think the Australia cooking oil market will continue to grow as people get more mindful about what they consume. However, I think the challenge will be maintaining affordability while expanding options.

What are your thoughts—will the Australia cooking oil market continue its rise, or are we just seeing another passing trend in food consumption?
